With the solemn aim of creating a youth front of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti, a Youth Convention was called forth on 29th January 2012 & was met with a phenomenol response. The convention helped identity the efficient speakers and the prospect active youth cadres of the Samiti. The subsequent meeting of this new young 'lot' on the 5th February 2012 saw the formation of 'YUVA' & birth of their group on Facebook called SNMS YUVA for their internal communication.

This group's initial role was to assist the senior members of the Samiti in organizing various events. And the group saw its active participaton, beginning with the pilgrimage at Gurudevagiri, Samiti's Anniversary celebrations & active role in making the Marriage Alliance Meet a grand success. 'YUVA' timely takes part in self improvement sessions which are organised by the ever so concerned seniors of the Samiti. The session with Srimad Saigon Swamy helped youth members get enlightened on the right path forward in Life & also by keeping sessions like Marriage Counselling the seniors have earnestly tried to proactive, in keeping the future in mind. Subsequently the have organised a Blood donation drive, aided by Nair Hospital. The event was meet with great response and with more such endeavours of inspiring the society, from their work. They have more such plans to take active part in Samiti's activities. To start with YUVA representatives are being incorprated in almost all committees being formed for various purposes.

YUVA strengthened its activities during 2015. Anumber of programs like cricket tournament, football league and arts competitions have been organized with great success. Last Foot ball tournament, YFL was held on 26 july at the sports complex in Powai with participation of 12 teams (8 teams of YUVA nad 4 outside teams). YUVA also orgnaized a Sports and Arts Club (YSAG) on that day evening with a grand musical pogram. There are still more programs in pipeline. A cricket tournament at Chembur complex in August and a grand Onam celebration at Nerul (Self Kerala) in September 2015. Dates will be announced shortly.

Responsibilities of YUVA Sub-Committee:

Planning and organizing youth (YUVA) programs at central level

Organizing personality development programs for the youth (public speaking, creative writing, acting, dancing, Guru's teachings and philosophy.)

Organizing Social responsibility programs (medical camps, voluntary teaching, computer literacy programs, coaching for competitive examinations, etc.)

Organizing entertainment programs and picnics

Organizing programs to combat alcoholism and substance abuse

Assisting SNMS management in the organization of various events and programs

Mobilizing youth participation in SNMS sports and cultural programs

Coordination with zonal conveners and Unit Conveners on youth (YUVA) related activities

(GENERAL: applicable to all Sub-Committees under SNMS)

All Office Bearers will be ex-officio members of all sub-committees. They have to compulsorily attend sub-committee meetings where they are specifically included (e.g., Coordination Committee, Youth Wing).

Conveners, Secretaries and Zonal Conveners of all sub-committees will be appointed by the Board.

OASIS Finale (21 December 2013)

Yuva,ended the year of 2013 helping elevate the SNG College's festival "OASIS",to enviable heights.The Mentors of Yuva,did a great job,helping the college arrange and carry out an event of star studded performers like renowned indi-pop singer Abbey of the hit single "e sanam pyar mein tere " fame& UK's Indian idol winner, Singer Harshi Madhaparia .Thereby raising the standard of the event,to a far superior level.

Seminar on anti-alcohol and anti-substance abuse (2 October 2013)

Yuva,organized an Anti-Alcohol & Anti-Substance Abuse Awareness Seminar in association with Dahlia Foundation,on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti 2013.The event was primarily meant for the young students of the SNGCollege,before they got entrapped in the web of Alcohol Addiction & Substance Abuse.The speakers from the Dahlia Foundation Mr.Saji David,Mr.Sonu Trikha,& Mr.Shetty recounted their Horrifying experiences,being addicted with the said substances,& encouraged the students to kindly refrain from using them.

With the support of the College Administration & NSS unit of College,more than 150 students could reap the gains of this Seminar.

"YUVA" YISHU AGOSHAM (21 APRIL 2013)

Yuva organized a "Vishu Agosham" , a celebration on 21 April 2013 with enthusiastic participation of YUVA memebrs in various fun games and sporting activites. it was an event aimed with the sole intent of celebrating the Kerala's Festival of Vishu, Games and entertaining events,were carried out in the morning & a sumptuous meal at the end of it. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the conclusion of the celebrationsA. About 100 youngters attended the event.
