Given below is a record of important events in the history of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti (SNMS) for the last 57 years. These events have been taken from the available records and every effort has been made to ensure accuracy. It is quite possible that some events may have been missed for want of records. Comments and suggestions to improve the contents will be highly appreciated:
First official meeting for constituting an organization in Mumbai (called “Bombay” at that time) the name of Sree Narayana Guru was held on 23 August 1963. The purpose was to build a befitting memorial for Sree Narayana Guru and to propagate Guru’s Teachings. Venue of the meeting was the Residence of Mr.P. Sucheendran at Chembur. There were 11 participants in the meeting.Shri. N.A. Bharathan chaired the meeting.
A Committee of three people viz. S/Shri.P. Sucheendran, N.A Bharathan and O.K. Madhavan was constituted to give shape to the organization. The work involved contacting interested persons , Drafting the constitution or the memorandum of association with the objectives , Rules and regulations or bye-laws, Registering it with the Registrar of the societies and with the Charity Commissioner, Forming the structure of the organization etc.
Further meetings were held on 22/09/63, 06/10/63 and 3/11/63 at Tilak Nagar open stage. Several interested persons participated in these meetings.
Drafts of constitution and bye-laws were finalized and a decision to call a general body meeting on 17/11/63 was taken.
The First General meeting of the proposed Organization was held at Poddar College, Matunga 17/11/1963. The meeting was presided over by Shri. Muliyil Karuvan who was elected as the founder President.
About 600 people participated. Constitution and Bye-laws were adopted. Objectives of the Organization adopted were establishing educational institutions, Community Halls, and Gurumandiram in Bombay. It was also decided to establish 20 Regional units in and around Bombay. It was decided to provide for ten Office bearers (President, Chairman, Vice-president, General Secretary, Treasurer, and five joint secretaries in charge of five regional units each. 20 Unit Members in charge (presently Unit Secretary) and 4- 5 Council members in each unit (presently 6 Council members per unit) were also decided. Shri. Muliyil Kuruvan was confirmed as President. Dr. K K Damodaran, Senior Scientist of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (Govt. of India) was elected as the Founder Chairman.
General Council was to comprise office Bearers (OB), Unit Members in charge (presently Unit Secretary) and Council members with full powers.
Board of Management consisting OBs and Unit Member in charge (presently Unit Secretary) were with limited powers to run the day to day affairs of the Samiti. With effect from June 1966 Patrons are also included in the Board of Management.
Name of the organization was adopted as Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti (SNMS) at the first general meeting of 17/11/1963 itself. The meeting also unanimously agreed on the names of first set Office Bearers, Unit Members in charge (Unit Secretary) and Council Members.
SNMS got Registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 (BOM 44/64 dated 8.04.1964) and under Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950 (F-1185 Bom dated 13.07.1964). The registered office being “Belle Ville”, Hormusji Adenwalla Road, Matunga, Bombay-400019. Membership drive for enrollment of Life Members with membership fee of minimum Rs. 5/- was started from 1964.
President Shri. Muliyil Karuvan left for heavenly abode on 02.02.1964.
Patronship was introduced in SNMS on payment of Rs. 5000. Shri. K. Somasundaram was enrolled as the first Patron on 31.12.1964. Shri. Bankey Agrawal took over as President in January 1965.
Constitution (Bye-Laws) were suitably amended to enlarge the scope of social service activities and to attract large scale donations. It was necessary to avail of income tax exemption to such donations under Sec.80G of the Income Tax Act. The amendments were drafted byS/ Shri. M.R. Narayanan, N.A.Bharathan and Dr.K.K.Damodaran.
First Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-3-1965 was held on 26-12-1965 at 9.00 AM at Guru Nanak Khalsa College Hall, King Circle, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Total Income during the completed year was Rs. 47,363/- and the Total Asset was Rs. 47,349/-. New Office Bearers were elected as per the Bye laws.
First Anniversary of the Samiti was held on 06.03.1966 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall, Bombay. Chief Guest : P.K.Sawant, Minister of Food Agriculture, Maharashtra. Guests of Honour :Shri P.T.Borale, Principal, Siddhartha College of Law and Dean of faculty of law , University of Bombay, Devaki Gopidas (M.P) and Swami Mangalananda of Narayana Gurukulam. Guest Speaker : Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati. Cultural Program : Bharata Natyam by Smt.Kamala and Kumari Vasanti. Fund collection drive started through souvenir advertisements.
During the year Dr.Nataraja Guru was given a reception when he arrived in Bombay for a European visit.
First Special General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was held at 9.00 AM on 17-04-1966 at Podar College Lecture Hall Matunga, Bombay – 400 019 for the adoption of Memorandum of Association and Rules Regulations and it was adopted. Second Special General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was held at 9.00 AM on 26-06-1966 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019 for Final Adoption of Memorandum of Association and Rules Regulation.
Second Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was held at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019 for the year ended 31-03-1966 at 10.30 AM on 26-06-1966. Total Income of SNMS during the year was Rs.42,720/- and Total Asset was Rs.89,797/-. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer, Five Joint Secretaries, Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors.
First SNMS Office was purchased in 1966. It was at Navin Asha, 126 dada Saheb Phalke Road, Dadar, Bombay 400014 (present Registered Office) and was inaugurated on 23.10.1966 by Harkishndas T.Agarwal, Chairman, Devi Dayal Cable Industries. First Guru Mandiram was established in the said office premises.
Prepared plans to acquire a plot of land to start an English Medium School and support facilities in a backward area to benefit the children from poor families
Decided to celebrate Guru Jayanthi (Chathayam day) and SNMS Anniversary on a grand scale every year and to publish souvenirs. Fund raising drive started.
Samiti started a Reading Room at its Dadar Office on 01-01-1967. with 35 newspapers and periodicals (English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, Malayalam) for the use of General Public. The facility was extensively used by the Local Population. They used to eagerly wait outside the office to avail the opportunity when the office opened in the afternoon. Marriage Functions, Naming Ceremonies, Vidyarambam etc. were conducted at the Dadar office of the Samiti for the benefit of its Members.
Fully paid Patrons inducted to the Board of Management (26.06.1966). Vice-President re-designated as Vice-Chairman. The post of Assistant Treasurer was introduced as an Office Bearer
The Second Anniversary was held on 02.04.1967 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest : Dr.P.V.Cherian, Governor of Maharashtra. Guest of Honour : S.G.Suratkar, Collector of Bombay. Guest Speaker : Swami Aryabhatan, Varkala. Cultural Program : Bharata Natyam by Vaijayantimala and party.
Publication of Guru’s Stamp by Postal department, Govt of India.(21.08.1967). Post Telegraph department published a note on Guru on 21.08.1967
Registration of SNMS for Income Tax for Exemption under sec.80G of Income tax Act was done in 1967.
Third Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1967 was held at 9.30 AM on 25-06-1967 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Total Income for the year was Rs. 25,170/- and total Asset was Rs.1,21,618/-. Shri. M.R. Narayanan was the General Secretary , Shri. S. Peethambaran was Vice – Chairman, Shri. U.H.Pandya Shri. M.N. Purushothaman were Internal Auditors.
113th Jayanti was celebrated on 21.08.1967 at King George High School Hall, Dadar. Chief Guest : Swami Dharmananda of the Mahabodhi society. Mayor of Bombay Shri. Leon J D’Souza. Postmaster General Released the Commemorative stamp of Sree Narayana Guru.
Dadar office was expanded in 1968 with the purchase of an adjoining shop.
SNMS got income tax exemption under Sec. 80G of IT Act with effect from 1/04/1968 (PAN No. AACTS1177L). Income tax exemption certificate for the period from 1.4.1968 to 31.3.1971 was issued by the income tax dept. on 3.4.1968.

Fourth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1968 was held at 10.00 Am on 09-06-1968 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Total Income for the year was Rs.51,992/- and Total Asset was Rs.1,59,425/-.
114th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was held on 08.09.1968 at Podar College Hall, Matunga. Chief Guest :Dr. P. T. Borale, Ex-Mayor of Bombay and Principal of Siddharth College of Law. Guest of honour : Swami Rasajnananda. Guest Speaker : Ezhikkara Ambujakshan.
Fourth anniversary of the Samiti was held on 23.03.1969 at Shanmukhananda sabha Hall.

Fifth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1969 was held at 10.00 Am on 25-05-1969 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the posts of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 98,990/- and Total Asset Rs.2,56,697/-

The Fifth Anniversary of the Samiti was held on 22.02.1970 at Shanmukhananda sabha hall. Chief Guest : Shri. S.P.Kotwal, Governor of Maharashtra. GuestsSpeaker : (1) Swami Dharmanandji, Mahabodhi Society, Bombay and (2) Prof. T.V.Ramanujam, Justice of peace, Bombay.
Sixth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1970 was held at 10.00 Am on 31-05-1970 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the posts of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 65,473/- and Total Asset Rs.3,02,917/- .
116th Jayanthi of Sree Narayana Guru was held on 19-09-1970 at Shanmukhananda Hall, Matunga. Shri. B.K.Boman Bahram,Mayor of Bombay was the Chief Guest. Swami Sivarupananda of Shri. Ramakrishna Ashram was Guest Speaker. Malayalam Drama “Kurukshethram” was presented by Adam Theaters
The Sixth Anniversary of Sree Narayana Mandiri Samiti was celebrated at Shanmukhananda Hall, on 21-02-1971. Shri. V.S. Page Chairman, Legislative Council Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. Swami Geethananda of Sivigiri Mutt, was the Guest Speaker. Bharatanatyam by Shetty’s Sisters, Songs by Mahendra Kapoor and Hemlata, Mimicry by Rao Brothers were performed. Surplus from Anniversary was Rs. 39,228/-.
Seventh Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1971 was held at 9.30 Am on 20-06-1971 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 68,101/- and Total Asset Rs. 3,58,756/-. Total Number of Patrons 21, Life Members 2313. Income Tax exemption Under Section 80 G was extended upto 31-03-1972.
Samiti signed an Agreement for the purchase of Land at Chembur measuring about 14,300 Sq. yards by paying an earnest money of Rs. 25,000/-
117th Jayanthi of Sree Narayana Guru was held on 05-09-1971 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Shri. Shantilal Jain, J.P. was the Chief Guest. Swami Sivarupananda of Shri Ramkrishna Ashram was Guest Speaker. Malayalam Drama “Karuthavelichal” by Art Cultural Wing of Samiti was performed.

The Seventh Anniversary was celebrated on 27.02.1972 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest Dr. J.K.Somani, Chairman Managing Director, Eve's Weekly(P) Ltd, Bombay. Guest Speaker : Swami Gautamananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Bombay. Entertainment :Ramayanam by Padmini and party. Surplus from the Anniversary was Rs. 36,852/-
Eighth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1972 was held at 9.30 Am on 18-06-1972 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held in for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 71,339/- and Total Asset Rs. 4,19,411/-. Total Number of Patrons 22, Life Members 2386.
Rs. 24,500/- was paid to the Solicitors for Stamp Paper and preparation of Sale Deed of Chembur Land agreed to be purchased.
118th Jayanthi of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 25-08-1972, Shanmukhnanda Hall. Shri. Poruthiyil Narayanan Vaidyar, Governing Director of Madhava Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Ernakulam was the Chief Guest. Swami Dharmanandaji of Mahabodhi Society Bombay was Guest Speaker. Malayalam Drama “Akkaldama” was presented by Art Cultural Wings of Samiti.
44th Samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru was observed on 20-09-1972 at Samiti premises.
Deed of conveyance of chembur land (14288 sq.yards) registered on 19.10.1972. Solicitors M/s. Divekar Company helped Samiti in land dealing. Property was secured by Barbed Wire Fencing, a Watchman was also appointed. M/s. Studiarch, the Architects helped Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti free of Cost for the Purchase of land and preparation of Plans for School Building Hall.
Birth Centenary of Mahakavi Kumaran Ashan was celebrated on 07-01-1973 at Poddar College. A Symposium on the works of Kumaran Asan was conducted on the occasion. Pappanamkott Prabhakaran and Ezhikkara Ambujakashan participated. Kathaprasangam by Shri. V. Sambashivan Party on Kumaranasan was also performed.
The land purchased at Chembur was reserved by BMC for housing. However at the efforts of Shri. Vyomakesan, the Architect 6300 sq. yards was permitted by BMC to be used for educational purposes.
Eighth Anniversary was held on 25.02.1973 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest :Shri. D.P.Rupavate, Minister of state for housing, social welfare Fisheries, Maharashtra. Guest Speaker : Swami Sivarupananda, Ramakrishna ashram, Bombay. Cultural Program :Asha Parekh Gopi Krishna (Image of India). Indian Classical Dance’s “Image of India” was presented by Yogendra Desai with Asha Parekh, Gopi Krishna Troupe. Eight Anniversary surplus was Rs. 34,504/- .
Ninth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1973 was held at 9.30 Am on 24-06-1973 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 51,062/- and Total Asset Rs. 4,60,058/-. Total Number of Patrons 23, Life Members 2397.
Shri. R.Shankar Shri. Nataraja Guru expired during the period.
119th Jayanthi of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 30-09-1973 at Shanmukhananda Hall. Shri. C.R.Kesavan Vaidyar of S.V. Products Irinjalakuda was Chief Guest. Swami Gautamananda of Ramakrishna Ashram was Guest Speaker. A Ganamela by Shri. Jaychandran, Shri. Brahmanadan, Smt.Vasantha Shri. Anto were presented under occasion.
45th Samadi of Sree Narayana Guru was observed on 21-09-1973
The Foundation Stone for the School Building at Chembur was laid by Shri. M.K.Somani on 07-10-1973. Swami Vipasi of Mahabodhi Society, Parel offered special prayers for the successful completion of the project. Architects invited Tender for the construction of the Ground First floor of the School building, upto plinth level of the community Hall and compound wall. Construction contract was awarded to M/s. Hill Rock construction at a cost of Rs. 7,50,000/-. Estimate for earth filling was Rs. 1,00,000/- .
Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti decided to sell 8017 Sq. Yards of land for the financing the construction cost of School Building. An advertisement was given in Newspaper. Highest offer for Rs. 4,00,000/- from M/s. Atomica Co-operative Housing Society (proposed), A society formed by staff of BARC at the initiative of Dr. K.K. Damodaran, was accepted and earnest money amounting to Rs. 4,00,000/- was received. Agreement was signed on 14-12-1973 after obtaining permission from Charity Commissioner.
K.K.Vishwanathan, Governor of Gujarat Visited Samiti on 4.1.1974.
Construction of school building, Community Hall and Guru Mandiram started in January 1974 (Architect: Shri. Vyomakesan of M/s Studiarch). Two more residential complexes (Sree Narayana Cooperative Housing Society and Chempazhanthy Cooperative Housing Society) surrounding the school area were promoted to facilitate transformation of the area into a residential locality and to support SNMS activities. Large scale fundraising drive to finance the cost of construction of educational complex was initiated. Several Donors and Patrons enrolled.
Ninth Anniversary of the Samiti was held on 24.02.1974 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest : Lata Mangeshkar, Renowned Singer; Guest Speaker : Swami Gautamananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Bombay. Dance Ballet “Train” “Srinagar” by Sachin Shankar Troupe and songs by Usha Mangeshkar, Vani Jayram and Nitin Mukesh were also performed. Surplus from Ninth Anniversary was Rs. 30,979/- In order to raise funds for school construction, Samiti organized a Ganamela of renowned singer Shri. K.J. Yesudas on 28-04-1974 at Shanmukhananda Hall.
Tenth Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1974 was held at 9.30 Am on 30-06-1974 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 1,09,364/- and Total Asset Rs. 5,93,922/-. Total Number of Patrons 28, Life Members 2422. An appeal for Donations for the construction of School Building was issued along with 10th AGM Notice.
120th Guru Jayanti was celebrated on 11.09.1974 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest : Shri. Harkishandas T.Aggarwal, Chairman, Devidayal Cable Industries Ltd. Guest speaker : Swami Gautamananda of Ramakrishna Ashram. Dance Drama “Anarkali” was presented by Yogendra Desai and Asha Parekh.
The 46th Samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru was observed on 21-09-1974.
Deed of conveyance for the sale of land measuring 8071sq yards to M/s. Atomica Co-operative Society was executed on 07-11-1974. Samiti paid its share of stamp duty amounting to Rs. 28,000/- as per the agreement. For fund collection Samiti organized a Drama festival at Shanmukhanand Hall 6,7 8th December 1974. Drama presented by Kalidasa Kalakendram, Quilon were “Rashtrabhavan”, “Pravahan” “Chakravarthi”.
Tenth anniversary was held on 23.02.1975 at Shanmukhananda Sabha Hall. Chief Guest : (Information not available). Guest Speaker : Swami Gautamananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Bombay. Entertainment programs: Songs by Manna Dey, Talat Mahmood, Tun Tun Kavita Krishnamoorthy; Bharata Natayam by Vanni Meera of Shri. Rajarajeshwari Bharatha Natya Kala Mandir and Film Dance by Kalpana. Surplus from the Tenth anniversary was Rs. 35,887/-.
Construction cost of first phase i.e. ground plus first floor, plinth of hall, plinth of principals Bungalow and compound wall was revised from 8.5 lakhs to 10.25 lakhs due to increased depth of columns. In order to finance the construction cost, Samiti availed a loan of Rs. 3,00,000/- from Dena Bank, Khodadad Circle Branch, Dadar @ of 16 % interest repayable within 5 years. Loan papers were signed on 14-04-1975. Ground floor and first floor of school building completed in June 1975.
Eleventh Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1975 was held at 9.30 Am on 22-06-1975 at Podar College Lecture Hall, Matunga, Bombay – 400 019. Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 65,791/- and Total Asset Rs. 9,79,247/-. Total Number of Patrons 28, Life Members 2431.
SNMS started its first school (Sree Narayana Guru High School) with two Senior KG Divisions (73 students) in 1975.
121st Jayanthi of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 19-09-1975 at Shanmukhananda Hall. Shri. Natwarlal Vora of M/s. Natwarlal Shamaldas Group of concerns was Chief Guest. Swami Gautamamanda of Ramakrishna Ashram was Guest Speaker. There was an entertainment program by Shri. Mahesh Kumar Party.
47th Samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru was observed on 25-09-1975.
SNMS got an Income tax registration certificate (NS/6287 dated 27.09.1975) with eligibility for exemption under Section 80 G of the IT Act with effect from 1.04.1968.
The Eleventh Anniversary was held on 22.02.1976 at Shanmukhananda sabha Hall. Chief Guest : Shri. Raja Kulkarni, M.P. Guest of Honour :Shri. V.K.Tembe, M.L.A. Guest Speaker: Swami Gautamananda, Ramakrishna, Mission, Bombay. Entertainment by Hema Malini their Troupe – Dance Drama “Shri Krishna Parijathan”. Surplus form the 11th Anniversary was Rs. 72,193/-.
Samiti at its Dadar Office felicitated Shri. Sukumar Pottekkatt of Mathrubhumi, Cochin and Mahakavi Shri. P.Kunhiraman Nair, during the period.

Work of Outhouse construction was done during 1978 – 1979. Contract was given to M/s. Hill Rocks Construction for an amount Rs. 80,000/-. Repayment of bank loan from Dena Bank was completed in 1979.

A Medical Camp was organized by Dr. B.Gopalakrishnan under the guidance of eminent Pediatrician Dr. W.K. Kandoth on 17-11-1979. A group of 9 Doctors checked-up school Children. 750 Students took advantage. Vitamin Tablets and other Medicine were supplied to Students.

A Marriage Bureau was set up in the Samiti for the benefit of its Members during the year. Fund collection drive was activated by keeping donation boxes at Guru Centers.

Election was held for the posts of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 2,01,513/- and Total Asset Rs. 19,81,964/-, School Rs. 21,469/-, Total Number of Patrons 110, Life Members 2929.
In 1982 the functioning of school switched over to the shift system in the Morning Afternoon due to paucity of space . Standard I to IV in the morning V to VI in the afternoon. Meanwhile, work for construction of Hall started and it was awarded to M/s. Modern Enterprises for a Lump sum of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Cement to be supplied by Samiti.). By 1982- 1983 student strength in school increased to 1330 (upto Std. VII). The school got Govt. recognition upto V Std.
Construction of Guru Mandiram and adjoining office was completed in 1982. Full Size Marble Statue of Sree Narayana Guru (donated by Shri. K.P. Balan) was installed at Guru Mandiram and consecrated on Chathayam day by Swami Geethananda, President of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust (SNDST), Sivagiri on 03.09.1982.
Marriage bureau started functioning in 1984 under the convenorship of Shri. P.G.Balakrishnan. Employment bureau started functioning in 1984 under the convenorship of Shri. M.Suseelan. Accommodation bureau started functioning in 1984 under the convenorship of Shri. V.Peethambaran. Relief Bureau started in 1984.
In the academic year 1983- 1984 student strength in school was 1452 (upto Std. VIII). 6328 sq. mtrs. of land was allocated to Samiti on lease by the government of Maharashtra as a playground for the school at a lease rent of Rs. 6581.15.

The Goregaon Unit office of 450 Sq. ft in Prem Bindu Building, Goregaon (W) purchased for Rs. 90,000/- . It was taken possession on 20-03-1983 and made into Goregaon Guru centre. The office for Bhandup unit in a flat of 600 Sq. Ft. was also purchased in 1983 for Rs. 90,000/- Construction of the Chembur Community Hall with a capacity of 1000 people was also completed in 1983.
19th Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-1983 was held at 9.30 AM on 26-06-1983 at Sree Narayana Guru High School, P.L.Lokhande Marg, Chembur, Bombay – 400 089. Election was held in for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 3,20,065/- and Total Asset Rs. 22,90,210/-, School Rs. 4,444/-, Total Number of Patrons 149, Life Members 3074.
Samiti created a few sub-committees for its efficient functioning. They were the School committee, works committee, fundraising committee, statute committee, reading room committee souvenir committee.

T.K.Narayanan got the rolling Trophy for collecting maximum advertisement for the souvenir on behalf of Zone II.
Decided to purchase an office for Ambernath Unit /Guru centre and booked a flat of 450 sq feet in 1984. Chembur School laboratory Furniture was donated by Shri.K.A.Lohidakshan.

Election was held for the post of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretary, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Member Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs.5,71,428/- and the total Asset of Samiti accumulated over the years was Rs. 26,65,912/-.Total Number of Patrons 189, Life Members 3162.
A few more sub-committees were established (in 1984) for the improved functioning of the Samiti. The School committee was headed by Shri. K.P.Balan, works committee headed by Shri. K.S.Nalana, Fundraising committee was headed by Shri. V.R.Prabhakaran, Prayer Hall Committee headed by Shri. N.K.Raman, Entertainment committee headed by Shri. V.S.Gangadharan, Purchase Committee headed Shri. Harilal Pottath, Goregaon Zonal Office Committee headed by Shi. K.K.Kesavan and, Bhandup Zonal office committee headed Shri. N.A.Bharathan. Weekly get together on Sundays at 9.30 AM has started attracting more more people for Pooja prayer. Marriage bureau continued functioning under the convenorship of Shri. P.G.Balakrishnan. Employment bureau continued functioning under the convenorship of Shri. M.Suseelan. Accommodation bureau continued functioning under the convenorship of Shri. V.Peethambaran.
Also in 1984, Samiti got additional FSI from the Municipality for the construction of 2 more floors on the school building. The Community hall construction suffered a setback due to the collapse of a folded roof slab while casting. Luckily there was no casualty. As per the advice of Architect M/s. Studiarch and RCC consultant, M/s. Parikh Kulkarni, Load testing of roof was conducted by specialists from IIT, Powai. M/s. Modern Enterprises completed the work in June 1984. Primary school got recognition for Std. I to IV, Secondary School got recognition for Std. V to VIII. Lease land was developed as a playground.

Shri. Kalesan Natesan donated (1985) Teak Wood stage in Community Hall, Chembur. Lions Club and Shenoi welfare services gave freeship to students. A conference in Malayalam on the life teachings of Sree Narayana Guru was organized at Chembur complex on 08-12-1985. Many eminent persons spoke on the occasion.

T.K.Narayanan got the rolling Trophy for collecting maximum advertisement for the souvenir on behalf of Zone II.
Twenty-Second Annual General Body Meeting of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 30-03-1986 was held at 10.00 AM on 29-06-1986 at Sree Narayana Guru High School, P.L.Lokhande Marg, Chembur, Bombay – 400 089. Election was held for the posts of President, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, ,Treasurer, Asstt.Treasurer, Five Joint Secretaries, and Member in charge for 20 Units, Council Members Two Internal Auditors. Income for the year was Rs. 7,21,714/- and Asset totalled up to Rs. 37,29,516/-, Total Number of Patrons 214, Life Members 3642.
There were 17 Sub committees formed during the year. Weekly get together held on Sundays at Chembur Guru Mandir and it attracted many people for Pooja prayers. People continued to use the prayer hall Community Hall for various functions such as Marriages, naming Ceremonies and Vidyarambam.
Decided to purchase an office for Kalyan unit and advance of Rs. 30,000/- was paid on 31-03-1986 for an apartment of 356 Sq. ft .
Samiti started the Sree Narayana Guru College of Commerce (SNGC) on 21-07-1986. Professor M.D. Limaye, the Ex-Pro. Vice- Chancellor of Bombay University inaugurated. Professor G.Y.Kamat was appointed Principal. The SNG College started with first year courses Junior college (FYJC) and Degree college (FYBCom).
First batch of SSC students from SNG School (SNGHS) passed out in 1986. In the same year, the Second and third Floors of the School Building was completed in 1986. The new SNG College also shared the building as a temporary arrangement.

A get together and seminar in Malayalam on the life and teachings of sree narayana guru was organized at Bhandup zonal office on 18-01-1987. Shr. Krishnan Parapally, the first Changampuzha award winner was Chief Guest. Shri. K.K.Ramakrishnan Shri. P. Chandran kaimal were the guest speaker.Shri. K.Sadanandan, patron sponsored the expenses of the program.

Income for the year was Rs. 10,01,061/- and Samiti’s Total Assets added up to Rs. 49,07,697/-, Total Number of Patrons 233, Life Members 4001.
Malayalam classes for children started June 1987. Conducted on Sundays in the school. People continued to use the prayer hall Community Hall for Marriages, naming Ceremonies Vidyaramba.

Samiti welcomed “Vahana Jadha” Carrying the National Integration Flagged off by Dr. Farooq Abdulla Honorable Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir from Jammu on their way to Aruvippuram. People continued to use the prayer hall Community Hall for Marriages, naming Ceremonies Vidyaramba. Organized a National seminar on life and teachings of Sree Narayana Guru. Eminent scholars like Justice K. Sukumaran, Prof. Nabeesa Ummal, Muni Narayana Prasad participated (01.12.1991).

Samiti setup a committee under the chairmanship of Shri. V.S.Ganagadharan to give relief to Gulf returnees from Kuwait due to war. 550 people were helped by Samiti. Kerala Chief Minister Shri. E.K.Nayanar opposition leader Shri. K.Karunakaran appreciated the services rented by the samiti.
Students of Std III IV donated Rs.21,650/- to Indian Leprosy Foundation. Freeships were given to 96 poor and deserving students of SNGHS.

Ambulance service of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was inaugurated on 12-05-1996. In 1996 Samiti decided to purchase 9606 sq. yrds. of land adjoining Chembur complex reserved for municipal primary school and playground for 65 lakhs and earnest money 6.5 lakh paid. Also decided to purchase a land of 11,511 sq. mtrs. at Tarapur for Rs. 11,11,111/-. Earnest money was paid. Again, Samiti decided to purchase another land of 1800 sq. yrds. at Kalyan East for Rs. 6.5 lakhs.

Construction of Gurudevagiri Project started on 21.10.1996 (Dussehra day). Construction work was awarded M/s. Laxmi Enterprises for Rs. 66.59 lakhs. D.G.Parab was appointed as the Artietech . Total estimated cost for the project was 3 crores. Shri . A.P.Prajnabhushan, supervised the construction as Chairman of the Steering Committee.
Third annual sport meet was held at Khalsa college ground Matunga, on 19-01-1997 about 700 athletes participated. Shri. Chandrakant Goyal M.L.A. was the chief guest. Chief Guest: Smt Chandrakantha Goyal, MLA.Sion Koliwada unit sponsored lunch and refreshments for the meet.

Shri. P N Bhaskaran donated the first floor Auditorium at Gurudevagiri in memory of his son Anandraj. Shri. N Shyamaprakash donated the Library Hall at Gurudevagiri. Amendments to Samiti Bye laws (Memorandum of Association, election rules code of conduct) were carried out in a special general body meeting held on 15-07-2001 and confirmed on another special general body meeting held on 19-08-2001. These amendments came into force on filing a change report to the charity commissioner on 18-10-2001. By way of these amendments, the term of elected office bearers, unit secretaries and council members was made three years and a new post of Assistant Secretary was introduced. The posts of Joint Secretary were redesignated as Zonal Secretary. Member in charge of the Unit was redesignated as Unit Secretary.

Samiti organized an All Religions Conference on communal harmony at Gurudevagiri on 02-10-2002. Scholars from various religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Zorashtrianism, Jainism, Sikhism) and religious philosophers presented papers. There were about 2000 delegates. Speeches of scholars collected in advance were compiled and released on the same day of the conference among the delegates.
Swami Bodhi Teertha of Narayana gurukula conducted classes on “Atmopadesha Satakam” from 18-11-2002 to 28-11-2002 at Gurudevagiri. Samiti started the Children's Wing (Balavedi) in 2002.
Samiti members as a group for the first time participated in Sivagiri Theerthadanam in 2003. 65 members under the leadership of Dr. K.K.Damodaran went by special train.
Second Gurudevagiri Teerthadanam along with the 2nd anniversary of the prathishta was celebrated from 9th to 11th of February 2003. A grand procession was organized on the occasion. In 2003 Samiti purchased a premises of 540 sq.ft. along with 960 sq.ft. terrace for Airoli Guru centre for an amount of Rs. 9,00,000/- .In the same year, Samiti also purchased a premise of 840 Sq. ft. for Rs. 6,50,000/- for Virar Guru center.

Samiti received the Holy Teeth of Sree Narayana Guru on 11-01-2004 at Gurudevgiri through Shri. Shivdasan Madhavan. Shri. R.K. Krishnakumar received and handed over to Dr. K.K.Damodaran it is kept in a special gold gasket donated by Shri. R.K.Krishnakumar. The gasket was made without charging any making charge by Shri. Padmanabh Rao, jeweler, and Patron of Samiti at the initiative of Shri. V.V.Chandran. It has been protected at Gurudevgiri in a special temple made for the purpose.

An exhibition was organised at Gurudevagiri consisting of the photos of Guru, the temples consecrated by Guru and other places of importance in Guru’s life. Shri. 41st Anniversary of SNMS was celebrated at Chembur complex 26-02-2006. Shri. Ganesh Naik, Minister of Maharashtar Govt. was the chief guest. Shri. Kishor M.Shah (Business) was the Guest of Honor. In 2005 Samiti started its website www.snms.in (later in 2011 converted into www.snms.co.in). Another Website dedicated to life and work of Guru: “sreenarayanaguru.in” was also started by Samiti in the same year.
A Medical Seminar was organized at the initiative of Women’s Wing on 04-06-2006 at chembur. Smt. Anna Dhani, I.A.S, Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra inaugurated the seminar. Dr. Mrs. Varsha Parkeh M.D.(Bomb), Dr. P.T.V.Nair, Dr. K.Sasidharan, M.D. (AY). Dr.Prakash Jose Nelapane, Dr. N. Sukumaran participated as invited guests in the seminar.
Ulhasnagar Guru Centre was inaugurated on 11-06-2006. Samiti purchased a flat of 700 sq.ft. area at Ulhasnagar at the cost of Rs. 6,22,800/- for this purpose.

79th Samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru was observed on 21-09-2007 at chembur and at all guru centers. Samiti conducted a seminar at chembur complex at the centenary of the great poem “Veenapoovu” written by Mahakavi Kumaran Ashan on 04-11-2007. Shri. E.I.S.Tilakan, Shri. C.N.N.Nair other eminent Poets/ Personalities participated in the seminar.
Samiti organized a conference on education organization at Nerul on 16-12-2007 as part of Platinum Jubilee of Sivagiri Theerthadanam. Swami Rithambarananda, Swami Prakashananda , Swami Sachidananda , Justice B.S.Swami Hyderabad , Dr. C.V.Ananda Bose, Chairman Atomic Energy education society, Dr. K.S.Sreenivasan of international Institute of Population of studies, Smt. Sathya Bhai Sivadas, Hyderabad, etc., were the main speakers. The Talks given by them were compiled and released by the samiti as a Book.
7th Gurudevagiri Teerthadanam was held from 9th to 11th February 2008. On the 9th evening there was a cultural programme presented by the members of the Samiti and their children. The Grand procession was held on 10th February. It was flagged off by Smt Anjani Prabhakar Bhoir, Hon’ble Mayor of Navi Mumbai. In the public meeting that followed, Shri. Vayalar Ravi, Hon’ble Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest. H.H. Swami Sachidananda was the chief speaker. Dr.P.Chandramohan, Eminent Cardiologist and Vice-Chancellor of Kannur University and Shri.V.Jayaprakash, President of S.N.D.P.union, Muscat were the Guest of Honours. The Holy teeth of Guru was displayed for the darshan of devotees at Gurudevagiri on 10th February2008. Seventh anniversary of the Prathishta at Gurudevagiri was also celebrated on11th February with a special Pooja.
43rd Anniversary of the Samiti was celebtated on 24.02. 2008 at Chembur Complex. Chief Guest : Shri. Johny Joseph, I.A.S. , Chief Secretary to Govt. of Maharashtra. 44th AGM of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31-03-2008 was held in a Chembur complex on 20-07-2008. Elections to the new office bearers, unit secretaries council Members for the next 3 years were held during the AGM. Income Rs. 95,13,975 /- Asset 6,67,02,971/- life members :12007, partorns- 763.
Marathi Medium School got recognition from Maharashtra State Govt in 2008. First batch of Marathi medium students were presented for SSC examination in April 2008.
Patronship fee increased to Rs. 25000 with effect from 1.07.2008.
154th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 14.09.2008at at Chembur complex. Chief Guest : Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan, Director, IISH.
8th Gurudevagiri Teerthadanam was held from 8th to 11th February 2009. On 8th there was a grand procession. It was flagged off by Shri. Ganesh Naik, Hon. Minister, Excise and Environment, Maharashtra. Smt Anjani Prabhakar Bhoir, Mayor and Shri Sashikant Birajdar, Dy.Mayor, of Navi Mumbai, respectively, were also present. Shri. M.G.Pushpakaran, a leading business man and social worker in the Middle East was the Chief Guest during the meeting that followed the procession. Prof. (Dr) Geetha Suraj was the Chief Speaker. A book written by Shri. C.N.N.Nair on “Daivadasakam” in English was released on the occasion. On remaining days there were regular poojas in the presence of Swami Sachidananda and also entertainment programmes. There was discourse by Saigon Swamigal during 15th to 22nd February at Gurudevagiri. Holy teeth of Guru was displayed for the darshan of devotees at Gurudevagiri on 8th February2009.

155th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 06.09.2009 at Chembur Complex. Shri. P.Rajendra Prasad, President, Sevanam, U.A.E was the Chief Guest. Shri..P. Vijayan, IPS, Superintendent of police, Ernakulam and Smt Beena Vijayan, I.A.S, District Collector of Ernakulam were the Guests of Honour. There was a Grand Procession from Chhedda Nagar to Chembur Complex followed by Public Meeting and Cultural programmes by the children of the Members of the Samiti.

Bye Laws of Samiti (Aims and Objectives) were amended in 2010 so as to make its enrolled membership confined to south Indians in general, and Keralites in particular, while retaining the nature of activities and services open to all general public.

Mahasivaratri Mahotsav and held on 13th. Pitrutarpanam was held on 14th. Grand procession was also held on 14th flagged off by Shri.Shashikant Virajdar, Deputy Mayor of Navi Mumbai. In the public function that followed, Dr. N.Gopalakrishnan, Hon’ble Director of Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage, Thiruvananthapuram, was the Chief Guest. Holy teeth of Sree Narayana Guru was displayed for the darshan of devotees at Gurudevagiri on 11th February.
Sakinaka Guru centre and Prathishta of Guru, Siva and Devi was done on 16.03.2010.
46th AGM of the Samiti for the year ended 31.03.2010 was held at Chembur Complex on 25.07.2010. Total No.of Life members as on 31.03.2010 was 12474 and the patrons 813. Income of the Samiti during the year was Rs.14330494.00 and the Asset as on 31.03.2010 was Rs. 95044934.00. Samiti published books on the life and teachings of Sree Narayana Guru in Hindi , Marathi and English to educate our students and general public the ideals and teachings of Guru. Samiti conducted twelve day Classes on Guru’s “Atmopadesa Satakam” by Prof.( Dr)Geetha Suraj. The Verses were recited during the class by Smt. Beena AjayaKumar.
46th Anniversary of the Samiti was celebrated on 28.02.2010 at Chembur Complex. Mrs. Thanksy Francis Thekkekara, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt. of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. Shri. N.Sasidharan, IRS, Member of Settlement Commission (Govt. of India) was the Guest of Honour. A colorful Souvenir was released on the occasion . Surplus from the function was Rs. 10,53,216/-
SNGC expanded in July 2010 with Self Financing courses (BSc-IT, BMS, BCom-Banking Insurance). Construction of four storeys of the college building at Chembur was completed 2010.
156th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 29.08.2010. .Shri. Vishwa Sadasivan, Member of Parliament, Singapore was the Chief Guest.Shri. A.V.Anoop, Managing Director of the Medimix group of companies was the Guest of Honour. Smt. K.P.Sasikala, Palakkad was the Guest Speaker. There was a variety entertainment programme presented by members and children from various units.

Mira Road Guru centre Prathista was held on 23 January 2011.
Global Convention on Universal Brotherhood was held in Colombo, Srilanka on 19 th and 20th December 2010. The Convention was based on Sree Narayana Guru Philosophy organised by Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti in association with Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, Sivagiri, Varkala and Sree Narayana Guru Society, Colombo. The delegates from various Sree Narayana Guru Organisations world over attended the Convention. There were 120 delegates from Mumbai, mostly Members of SNMS. Eminent Scholars, Philosophers, Social thinkers from across the Globe participated in the deliberations. The themes deliberated in the philosophical session included Praxis and Dharma in South Asia, teachings of The Buddha to Sree Narayana Guru, Transformative pathways to Alternate future in South Asia, tracking the concept of justice and unraveling the mystique of truth.
The Srilankan Convention was followed up by conferences conducted at Kochi in November 2011, Thiruvananthapuram in July 2012 (27th to 30th July) and agin at Kochi in July 2013 (19th to 21st July)i. These conferences were under the title “Metaphysics and Politics” attended by Eminent Scholars, Philosophers, Social thinkers from across the Globe, and representatives from the Sree Narayana Guru organizations engaged in the propagation of Guru’s ideals. These conferences are now an yearly feature. The papers presented in these conferences and outcome of discussions in these conferences are published by Oxford University Press in the name of “Backwaters Collectives''.
A Convention of Youth (mainly children of SNMS members) was organized for the first time on 29.01.2011. About 150 youngsters participated and gave shape to Youth activities in SNMS. They deliberated on possible creative activities for the youth under the banner of SNMS and decided to unite under the band “ YUVA”. The YUVA Convention was followed up with several programs for the youth including sports and cultural festivals. The YUVA continues to be a strong arm of the SNMS in the implementation of its programs.
47th Anniversary of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was held on 27.02.2011 at Chembur complex. Shri. K.Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. T.S.Vijayan, Chairman, Life Insurance Corporation of India was the Guest of Honour. There were colourful entertainment programmes presented by SNMS members and families. A colorful Souvenir was also released on the occasion.
47th AGM of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti for the year ended 31.03.2011 was held at Chembur complex on 31.07.2011. Elections for new Office bearers were held to elect them for the next three years. No.of Life members as on 31.03.2011: 12713. No of Patrons as on 31.03.2011 : 815. Income during the tear : Rs.89,80,444.00. Assett of Samiti at the end of the year : Rs.13,46,45,463.00.
A Seven day class on Janani Navaratna Manjari and Kali Natakam was conducted by Dr. Geetha Suraj in April 201 for the benefit of members and families. 24 Members of SNMS participated in a Simla conference on Guru’s Philosophy held in June 2011.
Silver Jubilee of SNGC (Sree Narayana Guru College) was celebrated on 30th July 2011. Maharashtra Governor H.E. Shri. K, Shankara Narayanan was the Chief Guest. More Self Finance courses , namely, BCom (Accountancy), BMM were started in SNGC in July 2011.
157th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated at Chembur Complex on 11.09.2011. Shri. L.Radhakrishnan, I.A.S, Chairman Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Navi Mumbai was the Chief Guest. Shri. Nedumkunnam Gopalakrishnan was the Guest Speaker. Cultural programmes by the talented children of the Members of the Samiti were the highlights of the function. Merit awards were given to the students who had excelled in the academic results during the jayanthi celebration.

The first Residential Camp for the Children (age group 12-18) was held at Gurudevagiri from 30.10.2011 to 04.11.2011. Swami Sudhi Chaitanya and Swami Atma Jnanananda Giri conducted the camp which included lessons on personality development and Sree Narayana Guru’s teachings. During this period Swami Sudhi Chatanya also conducted discourses on Guru’s philosophy for the benefit of elders.
The 90th birth anniversary (navathi) of SNMS Founder Chairman, long time President (and current President Emeritus), Dr. K.K. Damodaran was celebrated on a grand scale. A large public function was held on 13.11.2011. Chief Minister of Kerala Shri. Oommen Channdy was the Chief Guest. About 3000 people from all walks of life attended the function and felicitated Dr. Damodaran.
Organized Global seminar on Metaphysics and Politics with participation of eminent philosophers and thinkers at Kochi from 12.11 to 16.11.2011. A Conference of YUVA (Youth wing) of the Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was organised at Chembur complex on 29.01.2012. About 200 youth participated. A documentary film on the damage caused to the environment caused by human beings and their atrocities prepared by Shri. Unnikrishnan was screened on the occasion. A Core group consisting of Shri. Anish Damodaran, Shri.Unnikrishnan and Dr.Vinod was constituted to coordinate the activities of YUVA.
11th Gurudevagiri Theerthadanam was celebrated on 11th and 12 theof February 2012. On Pratishta day (11.02.2012) a special pooja was performed by Swami Sachidananda. Organized a Legal Services Conference with participation by Kerala Legal Services Authority and Maharashtra Legal Services Authority. Eminent persons from Judiciary, namely : Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair of Kerala High Court and Chairman Kerala Legal Services Authority; Shri. D. Mohandas, District Judge and General Secretary of the Authority participated. Shri. Suresh Gopi, prominent Malayalam Cine Artist and Brand Ambassador for the Kerala Legal Services Authority was Guest of Honor (11.02.2012). On 12.02.2012 there was a grand procession from S.I.E.S college to the Gurudevagiri. About 4000 devotees particicpated. It was followed by a public meeting. Shri.Ganesh Naik, Minister, Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. H.H.Swami Sachidananda, H.H.Swami Irudambarananda of Sivagiri Mutt, P.K.Mohamed, President, S.N.Mission, Bhilai were Guests of Honour. Dr.Raman, Rtd. Professor, Medical College Calicut was the Guest Speaker. Holy Teeth of Sree Narayana Guru was exhibited for public Darshan during Theerthadanam.

Consecration of Temple complex (Lord Siva, Guru, Sarada Devi idols) at Kurar (Malad East): was performed during 14 to 16 April 2012. This coincided with the centenary celebrations of the first Sarada Devi Temple consecrated by Guru at Sivagiri.
Mid day meal program was introduced for 1400 children of SNGHS with sponsorship from RCF in 2012. Inspection of SNGC by NAAC Team was accomplished in 2012 and Accreditation with high B Grade was received (August 2012).
158th Jayanti of Sree Narayana Guru was celebrated on 02.09.2012 at Chembur complex. Shri. Pramod Hindurao, Chairman, CIDCO graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri. Biju Pulikkaledath was the Guest Speaker. The Public Function was followed by Cultural Programme by the talented children of the Members of the Samiti. A Kavi Sammelan (recitation of Poems by Malayalam poets) was organized at the international study center (21.10.2012). Second Residential camp for children on personality development was organised at Gurudevagiri from 31.10 to 4.11.2012. A Women's Conference organized at Chembur Complex on 9.12.2012. The theme was “Economic Independence of Women''. Shri.K.S. Money, IAS (Rtd), former Secretary General of National Human Rights Commission was the Chief Guest. About 1000 participants. Kalamboli Unit Office was inaugurated in December 2012.
A Perspective Plan (five year plan 2012-2017) for the Samiti was prepared and approved by the General Council giving direction to the future activities of the SNMS.
48th and 49th Anniversary of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti was celebrated at Chembur complex on 24.02.2013. Golden Jubilee celebrations of SNMS was also inaugurated on the same function to last for one year. Shri. T.K.A.Nair, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri.L.Radhakrishnan, Chairman Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Navi Mumbai and Shri. Devan, Leading Film actor were the Guests of Honour. A lot of programmes are planned for execution during the Golden Jubilee year. The concluding event was proposed to be held in April 2014 as a grand Golden Jubilee function.
Law College started with IPR postgraduate diploma course in January 2013. Free School uniform (two pairs each) was provided to 1400 school children with sponsorship from ONGC, Mahindra Mahindra and Hemant Kothari Foundation (January 2013). Freeship granted to 70 Marathi medium students (Feb. 2013).
12th Gurudevagiri Theerthadam and Prathishta anniversary were held during 9, 10 and 11 Feb. 2013.
